Mount Carmel Fentanyl Lawsuits & Overdose Malpractice Attorney

Ohio Hospital Negligence Lawyer and Medical Malpractice Attorney reviews Mount Carmel Fentanyl wrongful death cases for families of victims

Dozens of patients in Columbus, Ohio’s Mount Carmel hospital in the intensive care unit have been confirmed victims of a former doctor’s “excessive” use of fentanyl and other powerful painkillers and opioids. Reports say at least 34 patients may have died prematurely due to Dr. William Husel’s negligent use of dangerous drugs. The state has now charged him with 25 overdose deaths.

Several lawsuits have already been filed on behalf of victims and their families, alleging that the physician, hospital pharmacists, and hospital management were negligent and failed to follow normal medical protocol, which in turn led to the death of vulnerable patients.

More information has been released of late regarding the legal situation, and plaintiffs and families of victims are urged to contact an Ohio medical malpractice attorney to discuss potential legal action against Dr. Husel and Mount Carmel.

Joe Lyon is an experienced Ohio Hospital Negligence Lawyer and Medical Malpractice Attorney investigating reports of prescription error and the excessive use of painkillers in the Mount Carmel Fentanyl reports.

Mount Carmel Fentanyl Lawsuits & Wrongful Death

Some victims have already filed a civil suit and seek damages related to premature deaths and the specific negligence of hospital staff. The intensive-care patients were in Mount Carmel West hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and were in similar serious states of deteriorating health.

Attorneys are arguing the patients were given a “lethal” dosage of fentanyl and other drugs, directly causing the patient to succumb and die.

One patient received a 800-microgram dose of fentanyl and six milligrams of the sedative midazolam, both potentially excessive according to experts. Plaintiffs allege the doctor and staff failed to seek other treatment options and resorted to a very dangerous drug, which led to at least 34 patients dying.

The malpractice cases note that some of the wrongful death cases date back to 2015. Criminal charges are being considered, and Mount Carmel Fentanyl Lawsuits are being filed by Ohio attorneys.
