What Happened at Lockton?

According to a Notice of Data Incident letter sent out on February 28, on November 20, 2024, Lockton allegedly discovered suspicious activity on a single company computer. Lockton initiated an investigation with third-party cybersecurity experts and later concluded that an unauthorized party accessed a single individual account and computer within the company IT environment and obtained certain files. Sensitive personal information may have been contained within the files, including the following:

  • Name
  • Social Security number

Lockton is a large insurance brokerage firm operating out of Kansas City, Missouri. Lockton offers insurance to individuals and businesses, including accident and health, auto, aviation, casualty, property, surety, umbrella and excess liability, general and product liability, and workers compensation. The company works with several industries globally, including aerospace and defense, architects and engineers, banks, education, energy and power, entertainment and sports, healthcare, real estate, and retail.
