DermCare Dermatology Data Breach Investigation

The data breach lawyers at The Lyon Firm are investigating a recently announced data security incident that may have impacted thousands of dermatologist patients around the country. DermCare Management, the parent company of over 70 clinics, announced the breach and individual clinics have started to post notices on their websites, and send out letters to all known to be impacted. What happened at DermCare?

On February 26, 2025, DermCare Management, the parent management company for dozens of skincare clinics, identified suspicious activity on their computer systems. It was later concluded that an unauthorized actor may have accessed and copied certain patient information from the network without permission.

Reports suggest that both personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) may have been compromised, including the following: Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, medical information, and health insurance information.

DermCare Management has this investigation ongoing and is trying to determine the full nature and scope of the incident. Once the data review is complete, additional notices will be sent by mail to those impacted.
