What Happened at Turning Point of Central California?

Turning Point has announced that it was the target of a 2024 data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice sent to the California Attorney General, in May 2024, the organization identified suspicious activity and started an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

TPOCC later concluded that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised between February 1 and February 10, 2023. In August 2024, TPOCC began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. The type of information potentially leaked varies from one individual to the next but could include the following:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Personal health information
