What Happened at The Longleaf Network?

On March 4, 2025, The Longleaf Network filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Massachusetts after discovering that an unauthorized party may have accessed its computer network for ten days back in May 2024. In their company breach notice, Longleaf explains that the security incident resulted in the unauthorized party being able to access consumers’ sensitive information such as names, financial account info and Social Security numbers.

Longleaf has also begun sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals known to be impacted by the incident. The Longleaf Network breach was only recently announced, and more details should emerge in the coming weeks. At the time of writing, we do know from sources that on May 29, 2024, Longleaf detected suspicious activity on its IT network and started an investigation. They later concluded that an unauthorized party accessed parts of its network between May 19, 2024, and May 29, 2024.

The company was acquired and now operates as a subsidiary of Thrive, a provider of managed services and technology solutions.
