
SogoTrade Inc. Data Breach Investigation

What Happened at SogoTrade?
According to a sample breach notice from the company sent to the Attorney general of California, in March 2025, SogoTrade determined that a phishing email containing malicious software may have led to the compromise of multiple company email accounts. An investigation later confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between May 8 and May 22, 2024. The types of information potentially exposed include:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Tax identification number
- Financial account number
On April 28, 2025, SogoTrade started mailing data breach notification letters to all known impacted individuals. Over 48,000 individuals may have had their data leaked.
