WaterStreet Company Data Breach Investigation

The company specializes in property and casualty insurance software, primarily offering cloud-based software to insurance carriers. The data security incident reportedly involved sensitive personal information (including Social Security number) belonging to over 25,000 individuals.

What Happened at WaterStreet?

According to the breach notice reported to the Attorney General of Maine, sensitive personal identifiable information (PII) in WaterStreet’s care may have been compromised around mid-March 2025, when the company discovered suspicious activity related to its IT environment. After an investigation, the company concluded that sensitive personal information may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the security breach.
