What happened at First City Credit Union?

In the sample data breach notification letter sent to the Attorney General of California, First City explains that the credit union has experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its possession may have been accessed and taken.

According to the breach notice, First City first detected the data security incident when an unauthorized party gained access to its email network. After an investigation, FCCU concluded that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party between November 18 and November 20, 2024.

First City has mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals, which should help individuals learn what specific types of sensitive information were compromised. The type of information potentially exposed may include the following:
