What happened at Renkim Corporation?
As many as 46,864 individuals may have had their data leaked in a reported data security incident posted on the website of the Attorney General of Maine. According to the data breach sample letters recently sent out, on March 3, 2025, Renkim discovered suspicious activity in its IT environment network. They launched an investigation to determine the scope and nature of the incident, and on a notice posted on the company website, Renkim announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information (PII) in its possession may have been compromised.
The data impacted varies case-by-case, but the type of information potentially exposed includes the following:

- Date of birth
- Contact information
- Client name
- Client account number
- Date(s) of service
Renkim has concluded that personal information belonging to clients may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third-party starting on March 2, 2025.
