What Happened at Ventura County Credit Union?
An investigation is still ongoing, and some details are still emerging, however, Ventura County Credit Union discovered that it had experienced a data breach back in January 2024. The California credit union determined that an unauthorized third party accessed sensitive information through an employee’s email account.
The credit union offers checking and savings accounts, credit cards, retirement accounts, youth accounts, as well as home, personal loans and car loans.
On June 20, 2024, the company began notifying individuals whose information may have been leaked. The types of information potentially compromised includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
