In March 2023, UI Community HomeCare, a subsidiary of University of Iowa Health System, discovered encrypted files their computer systems. UI Community HomeCare immediately launched an internal investigation and determined there was unauthorized access to UI Community HomeCare’s servers beginning on or about March 23, 2023.

Over 67,000 individuals may have had their data compromised.

UI Community HomeCare has determined that the impacted files contained the following personal information:

Address
Phone number
Medical record number
Referring physician
Dates of service
Health insurance information
Billing and claims information
Medical history information
Diagnosis/treatment information
