What Happened at Plaza Radiology?

In December 2023, Plaza Radiology, the parent company of Chattanooga Imaging, filed a data breach notice with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (HHS), and confirmed that over 569,000 individuals may have been impacted by a data security incident.

Plaza Radiology explained that the cyberattack resulted in an unauthorized party being able to access patients’ sensitive information. If you received a data breach notification, it is important to understand the increased risks of medical fraud and identity theft.

Reports note that on October 21, 2023, Chattanooga Imaging concluded that it was the target of a cybersecurity incident. In response, Chattanooga Imaging hired third-party data security specialists.
