MedEx Ambulance Data Breach Investigation

What Happened at MedEx?
As explained to the Attorney General of Maine as well as on their website notice, Medical Express reported that some sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on March 18, 2024, MedEx experienced a “network disruption” that impacted certain IT systems.
The company launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident and later confirmed that sensitive personal information may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party. As a result, MedEx started reviewing possibly compromised data to determine what information may have been accessed and acquired.

On April 14, 2025, MedEx started mailing data breach notification letters to all known impacted individuals.
