What Happened at Henry Schein?
On October 15, 2023, Henry Schein posted a statement on their website, explaining that they were experiencing a “cyber incident” that may have impacted some data on the company servers. The healthcare distributor recently updated the notice to note that they have, in fact, experienced a data breach, warning suppliers and customers that financial data could have been compromised.
The company has now sent out data breach notices to customers and suppliers with more details about the ongoing investigation. The company notes that bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and other sensitive information may have been exposed by the hackers. The number of entities and individuals is not yet known.

The Henry Schein attack has been claimed by the ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware group that has acquired 35 terabytes of data from the firm. The BlackCat group has carried out hundreds of ransom attacks, responsible for some large IT security events, including ransomware attacks on MGM Resorts and Caesars International.
