What Happened at Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCBHS)?

Even though the GCBHS data breach apparently occurred six months ago, it was only recently announced. The leak of personal data allegedly involved the sensitive personal identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI) of over 60,000 individuals.

On their website, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health explains they discovered that they experienced a large data breach when an unauthorized third party accessed certain sensitive information on December 10, 2023.

What Information was Leaked at GCBHS?

The Cincinnati, Ohio mental health agency started sending out data breach notification letters to all impacted staff and patients on June 12, 2024. The type of information potentially compromised in the incident may include the following:
