Wemfg Children’s Multi-Purpose Bike Helmet Recall

The recalled Wemfg multi-purpose helmets apparently do not comply with positional stability, impact labeling and certification requirements, and may be in violation of the CPSC federal safety regulation for bicycle helmets. The helmets thereby can fail to protect a child in the event of an accident or collision, posing a risk of head injury. Around 6,500 helmets were recalled on January 08, 2025.

The Wemfg recall involves helmets sold in size small (S), fitting a head circumference of about 19-1/2 to 21-1/4 inches, and in multiple color combinations.

Monarch Raw Pet Food Recall

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has issued a warning about feeding their pets Monarch Raw Pet Food after a house cat tested positive for bird flu and lab samples of the food detected the virus. This is the second warning about bird flu associated with raw pet food in the last week. Northwest Naturals recalled a batch of cat food after a house cat died of bird flu and the raw food it ate was found to be contaminated with a “highly pathogenic avian influenza virus,” according to the Oregon Department of Agriculture.

Bird flu is currently circulating, causing outbreaks in poultry in all 50 states, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the recalled cat food allegedly contained contaminated turkey.

Walmart Food Recall

Two separate products sold in Walmart stores have been recalled in recent weeks, including Braga Fresh broccoli and chips produced by Frito-Lays, which were recalled in December via the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The Braga broccoli was recalled due to the presence of Listeria monocytogenes, a pathogen that can cause food poisoning. The chips were recalled due to the presence of milk, a major allergen, which was not declared on the product’s packaging.

Fisher-Price Snuga Swing Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Fisher-Price have announced the recall of millions of Fisher-Price Snuga Swings due to the risk of suffocation.

Between 2012 and 2022, there have been reports of five deaths involving infants using the recalled swing. Consumer safety advocates have warned that the swing should not be used for sleeping and bedding materials should not be added to the swing.

Since 2010, around 2.1 million swings were sold in the United States. The Snuga Swing is an infant swing with a front-to-back and side-to-side motion. Consumers are urged to check the company website to make sure they are not using a recalled infant swing.
