In June 2022, Convergent Outsourcing discovered a data breach in which the sensitive personally identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. After an investigation, Convergent Outsourcing determined that an unauthorized actor used data extraction tools and deployed a ransomware attack.

On November 1, 2022, Convergent Outsourcing began notifying over 640,000 impacted individuals.

Convergent Outsourcing is a third-party debt collection agency and conducts business with telecommunications companies, utilities, banks, cable companies, and financial service providers.
