Bayer Roundup Settlement 2026 | Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Lawsuit Claims
Bayer’s subsidiary Monsanto announced a proposed $7.25 billion nationwide class settlement this week, designed to resolve thousands of Roundup cancer lawsuits alleging that the popular weedkiller caused Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in long-term users. The proposed settlement was filed in St. Louis Circuit Court in Missouri and still requires judicial approval before any payments are distributed.
The deal would cover both current plaintiffs and individuals diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin lymphoma in the future — up to 16 years after the settlement receives final court approval. Payments would be made annually for as many as 21 years, with individual compensation varying based on factors like age at diagnosis, the severity of illness, and the nature of a claimant’s Roundup exposure — whether occupational or residential.
Can You Still File a Roundup Cancer Claim?
This settlement does not mean the courthouse doors are closed. Class members retain the right to opt out and pursue individual Roundup cancer lawsuits independently. Some plaintiff attorneys have already indicated the proposed payouts may significantly undervalue victims’ claims, pointing to a 2025 Georgia jury verdict that awarded a single plaintiff $2.1 billion.
With roughly 61,000 Roundup claims still pending and the U.S. Supreme Court preparing to hear arguments on whether federal EPA approval shields Bayer from state failure-to-warn claims, the legal landscape remains fluid and consequential for every cancer victim evaluating their options.
The World Health Organization classified glyphosate — Roundup’s active ingredient — as “probably carcinogenic” in 2015. Despite this, Roundup labels have never carried a cancer warning. Plaintiffs in these Roundup herbicide lawsuits argue that Monsanto knew about the cancer risks for years and deliberately withheld that information from farmers, landscapers, and everyday consumers who used the product without protection.
Bayer has paid roughly $11 billion to settle nearly 100,000 Roundup lawsuits to date — a figure that underscores the scale of harm caused by decades of glyphosate exposure.
