Which Blue Ridge Beef products have been recalled?

Blue Ridge Beef issued a recall of 1,350 pounds of its 2-pound Kitten Mix logs after lab testing confirmed Salmonella contamination. The cat food recall was initiated after the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture Resources collected a sample of the pet food following a customer complaint in December 2024.

The recalled products were reported distributed between July 18, 2024, and July 26, 2024, in stores across Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. The Blue Ridge Kitten Mix is packaged in clear plastic chubs.

Salmonella contamination in pet food can cause serious illness, including symptoms like diarrhea, fever, vomiting and lethargy. Some infected pets can appear healthy and transmit the bacteria to humans or other animals. Consumers have been urged to stop using the recalled cat food immediately

This is not an isolated incident at this particular pet food company, unfortunately, Last year, there was another Blue Ridge Beef recall for the same issue. The company’s Kitten Grind, Kitten Mix and Puppy Mix were recalled due to Salmonella and Listeria contamination.
