Total Health Care Data Breach
Health Care Data Breach Attorney
investigating Total Health Care DATA THEFT & Data Misuse claims
Total Health Care, a health plan based out of Detroit, Michigan, announced a data breach that compromised the personal information of health plan members and physician partners. Those responsible for the cyberattack gained access to employee email accounts.
The Total Health Care data breach was limited to email accounts, accessed by between December 16, 2020 and February 5, 2021. No evidence was found to suggest any protected health information was viewed or misused, but emails in the accounts contained names, addresses, dates of birth, member IDs, claims information, and Social Security numbers.
Affected Total Heath Care clients have been offered free credit monitoring services for up to two years, and additional security awareness has been stressed in the wake of the breach. However, plaintiffs in a filed class action say that is not enough to satisfy those affected by the hack.
The breach, reported to the HHS, affected 221,454 individuals connected with Total Health Care.
