What happened at MLP Tax & Financial Services?

On June 17, 2025, MLP Tax reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its possession may have been compromised, potentially including names and Social Security numbers. According to the sample breach notice on the site, on September 15, 2024, MLP staff identified suspicious activity within the firm’s network and started an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

MLP Tax hate concluded that files containing sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to clients may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between September 10, 2024, and September 17, 2024. In April 2025, MLP began mailing data breach notification letters to all impacted individuals. The types of information potentially exposed includes the following:

• Social Security number
